- It is amazing how everything can become so quickly undone and pile up after just a couple days of not feeling well. I guess I shouldn´t be surprised that my little toddler has this amazing ability to pull out all kinds of things from all kinds of places and we end up living with kitchen things that show up in the bedroom, toys that end up in the bathroom and kitchen cabinets and little clothes scattered all around the apartment. But, I´m sick again! I have actually lost count on the times that I´ve gotten colds since this pregnancy began, but I can guarantee that I have had more than ever in my life! I probably get sick every two to three weeks... oh well, this too shall pass! I´ll just have to rest it out and pick up the pieces at the end!
- On another note, once again, God has proven Himself faithful in spite of my days of doubt and desperation. We don´t have a house yet but after doing our taxes and a special offering that was designated to us at church this Sunday we have enough to pay off a small debt, get closing costs started AND buy our new baby´s things we may need. How often do I forget that He really knows what He´s doing!
- A question for all the more experienced Moms out there: When and how did you start potty training? My sweet man asked me that the other day and I hadn´t even thought of it! Not that I think Elena is ready yet, but it doesn´t hurt to start asking the experts!

My mom-in-law let me borrow a book she had used to help her potty-train called Toilet Training In Less Than A Day. It had all sorts of tips (ways to know when your child is ready to potty-train and such) and a great process to use. I didn't follow it to a T, but used the method rather closely, and I had great success.
Gabriel was a little over 2 when I potty-trained him. One thing the book helped me with was knowing WHEN to begin training him, because beginning to soon can be a bit detrimental to your cause! The potty-training was intensive for about 2-3 days, and then it took about 2 weeks before I declared him accident-proof, but even then he'd only had a handful of accidents total.
I highly recommend reading the book, if you can get your hands on it. I think it's out of print, so a library may be your best bet.
At any rate, we'll see if the process works with different personalities when I attempt to train Bronwyn! I'll let you know how that goes!!!!
Hi Keila,
Potty training was something we would play at for a little while...talk about big girl/big boy pants...they had been in the bathroom enough to have conversations ;)...then they'd get their own chance as we would sit them on it to complete a business they had started. Some "magical" time between 2 and 3 for my kids (closer to 3), it was no problem....quite natural actually, as we had talked and played it for quite a while. It saved me a lot of stress (unnecessary accidents). It's kind of something that "wakes up" in them, if that makes sense, and when they wake up, it's time to train! Some children happen earlier than later, but it'll happen...and you'll see it!
I do hope you're feeling better!
My Mother is usually sick; so, it drives her crazy to come downstairs to a messy home! Then, she yells at us for not helping her out by cleaning it when it starts to gradually become worse! I understand where she is coming from and the frustration she is under when that happens. Not being able to take care of the things that need to be taken care of, at the appropriate time that it needs to be taken care of, must be difficult for her. It is SO GREAT to read of how God is providing for your family! Remember, GOD'S TIME IS NOT OUR TIME! God bless you all!
